A Facebook post by me addressed to a Swedish party leader became the base for the "I am 2015" movement in Sweden. I wanted to create a different and positive images of refugees than those portrayed by the media and by politicians. In the post, she urges people to share their stories, both as refugees and those who support or have been involved in helping refugees to enter society.
The post spread enormously and have engaged thousands who have shared their stories. She collected over 1300 stories that she handed over at the Swedish Parliament in November 2020, to the politician Annika Hirvonen.
I created the organisation “I am 2015” in November 2020 and the plan is to create cultural projects linked to the movement and the first project will be shown for public in 2021/2022.
